STEP 7: Give Students Access

STEP 8: Assign Lessons

No doubt you've received an activation email from support@mangolanguages.com detailing your login information and providing links to where you need to go in order to get set up with Mango. Let's get you logged in first.

STEP 1: Login

To log in as an administrator into the MAP (Mango Admin Portal), visit https://org.mangolanguages.com/ and log in using the credentials you were sent in the activation email.

Screen_Shot_2020-03-24_at_3.43.11_PM.png

If you'd like to log in to the learning portal, where your students will be learning, visit https://mangolanguages.com/ and click "Log In" in the upper right corner. This way, you can use Mango to learn languages as well!

Now, let's get back to the MAP (Mango Admin Portal).

STEP 2: Set Up Admins

After logging in, the first thing you want to do is add additional administrators. Administrators are the only ones who have access to the MAP (Mango Admin Portal). Administrators can create additional users. Users fall into three main categories: administrators, instructors, and students. Administrators also have the ability to delete users, directly change/assign passwords, create/manage groups (classes), change authentication settings, view school-wide usage statistics, and visit our promotional site.

Now, let's add another administrator. Click on the "All Users" tab near the top of the screen:

If you just received the activation email, and this is the first time logging in, you will likely only see one user; you! The only administrator. To add another administrator, click on "Add User" and then select "New Admin":

Follow the prompts on the screen to add another administrator. If you'd like to add multiple administrators all at once, click on "Import Users from CSV" and then click on "Import Admins":

We have CSV templates that you can use to import these administrators: CLICK HERE FOR CSV TEMPLATES

Once you have filled out your CSV template, click on "Choose File", select the CSV file for upload, and then click "Upload":

You will directed to a page to preview the admins you'd like to import. If everything looks right, click "Begin Import" and new administrators will be added to the MAP:

Screen_Shot_2020-03-24_at_3.54.48_PM.png

You will then see those administrators in the "All Users" tab. Success!

STEP 3: Set Up Instructors

Teachers or professors at your school need to have Instructor profiles created. Instructors cannot access the MAP. Instead, they access Mango the exact same way their students access Mango; through https://mangolanguages.com/. We have a series of excellent videos you can share with your instructors about how they can manage their groups, add/remove students from that group, and view their students usage/activity: Please direct your instructors here: CLICK HERE FOR INSTRUCTOR TUTORIALS.

Now, let's add some instructors. Instructors can be added the same way additional administrators can be added. You can add instructors one at a time, by clicking on "Add User" and then selecting "New Instructor":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-24_at_4.43.08_PM.png

Follow the prompts on the screen to add the instructor. If you'd like to add multiple instructors all at once, click on "Import Users from CSV" and then click on "Import Instructors":

We have CSV templates that you can use to import these instructors: CLICK HERE FOR CSV TEMPLATES

Once you have filled out your CSV template, click on "Choose File", select the CSV file for upload, and then click "Upload":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-24_at_4.46.11_PM.png

Just like when you added additional administrators, you will be directed to a page to preview the instructors you'd like to import. If everything looks right, click "Begin Import" and new instructors will be added to the MAP:

Screen_Shot_2020-03-24_at_4.46.37_PM.png

You will then see these instructors in the "All Users" tab. Another success!

STEP 4: Add Students

Students, like instructors, only have access to the language learning platform; https://mangolanguages.com/. This is where they will do all of their learning with Mango Languages. They can also use the mobile app. Their usage/activity is synced across devices as long as they are connected to high-speed internet.

Now, let's add some students. Students can be added the same way administrators and instructors can be added. You can add students one at a time, by clicking on "Add User" and then selecting "New Student":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.06.58_AM.png

Follow the prompts on the screen to add the student. If you'd like to add multiple students all at once, click on "Import Users from CSV" and then click on "Import Students":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.07.46_AM.png

We have CSV templates that you can use to import these students: CLICK HERE FOR CSV TEMPLATES

Filling out this template is a bit different because you are given two extra columns to fill out: "Group Name" and "Instructor Email". This will automatically create a group, assign an instructor to that group, and add students to that group. This is the most efficient way to create groups and streamline this process.

Once you have filled out your CSV template, click on "Choose File", select the CSV file for upload, and then click "Upload":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.08.43_AM.png

Just like when you added administrators and instructors, you will be directed to a page to preview the students you'd like to import. If everything looks right, click "Begin Import" and new students will be added to the MAP:

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.09.56_AM.png

You will then see these students in the "All Users" tab (NOTE: this may take a few moments due to the volume of users being imported. If you don't immediately see them, wait a minute, and refresh the page). Another success!

STEP 5: Create Groups

As noted in Step 4, the most efficient way to create groups is when you upload a quantity of students using a CSV file. This automatically creates a group, assigns an instructor to that group, and adds students to that group.

However, you may wish to create groups separately. To do this, click on the "Groups" tab near the top of the screen:

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.21.10_AM.png

Then, click on "Add Group":

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_11.43.56_AM.png

In the box that appears, give the group a name (the name of the class), assign an instructor, and invite students to this group by selecting them from the right side of the box. NOTE: Instructors and students must have already been created in order to do this. You cannot add a student to a group if that student's Mango profile has not yet been created.

Screen_Shot_2020-03-25_at_2.54.43_PM.png

Creating groups can be performed using the above method. This method is for administrators only. However, an instructor can also create a group in the Mango platform itself. An instructor can do this by following the instructions here: CLICK HERE AND SELECT THE VIDEO "HOW TO CREATE A GROUP"

STEP 6: Add Students to Groups

Adding students to a group can be performed using the method in Step 4 or Step 5. Both of those methods are for administrators only. However, an instructor can also add students to a group in the Mango platform itself. An instructor can do this by following the instructions here: CLICK HERE AND SELECT THE VIDEO "HOW TO ADD STUDENTS"

STEP 7: Give Students Access

After your students' profiles are created, they will access Mango Languages one of two ways: by logging in through our website https://mangolanguages.com/ or by downloading our mobile app on their smartphone or tablet.

The method of communicating their login credentials, where they can log in, is up to you. Send them all an email, or post those instructions in your Google Classroom. Whatever the case may be, make sure your students know the following:

STEP 8: Assign Lessons

Assigning lessons will be done by their instructor, using their preferred method.

Your school's instructors can visit the following Help Center article about how to share links to lessons with their students: CLICK HERE TO LEARN HOW TO SHARE LINKS WITH STUDENTS

GOOGLE CLASSROOM: If your school is using Google Classroom, and your instructors are familiar with it, they can use the links to lessons to share assignments with their students.

If your instructors are unfamiliar with Google Classroom and do not know how/where to share links with their students, they can also learn how to share these links in Google Classroom by watching our instructional video here: CLICK HERE AND SELECT THE VIDEO "HOW TO USE MANGO IN THE CLASSROOM"
