The Groups tab located at the top of the screen is only visible and available for users with an instructor profile associated with an academic institution (currently only accessible when logging in to Mango Languages on a computer browser).
The Groups tab allows instructors to create groups that students can join. Once a group is created, an instructor will be able to view any student’s individual activity within the Mango Languages program.
Note: Assigning homework lessons to students must be done outside of the Mango platform. However, you can link to specific lessons by clicking the chain link icon to copy the direct link. |
Create New Group Button: Click the Create New Group button to get started. Enter the Group Name, select the Group Account, and the Group Language associated with the class you are teaching. Once created, you can add students to your group.
There are two modes of adding students to your group. The mode available to you depends on which one your school administrator has chosen:
- Traditional Mode: If your school’s administrators have chosen Traditional Mode for adding students to groups, the administrators on the Mango account are responsible for uploading students to the school’s account. After they are added, you, as the instructor, will be able to add them to your group.
- Invite Mode: If your school’s administrators have chosen Invite Mode for adding students to groups, your students will individually be responsible for creating their Mango profiles through the school. You will send them an Invite Code, that they will use to link their existing profile to the group you created. Please note that the Invite Code does not create a profile for them. They must create a profile, link it to the school’s account, and then they can enter the invite code Invite Code under “Groups” in their profile settings.
Course Guides are only available for Instructors. They contain a complete overview of each lesson in every language course. Click on the Course Guides button and then click on the language for which you’d like to download the Course Guide.
