Reading & Listening Activities (K12 Teachers)

Note: At the time of writing this article, Listening and Reading Activities are available for our most popular 10 languages. You can view the details about what is included with each course when you click HERE.

At the end of each chapter, there is a Listening activity and a Reading activity. The activities are designed to push your students to the next level in these modalities by presenting conversations and passages not heard or seen previously in the course. It's a great way for the student to see how they can extrapolate the previously learned information and stretch their ability to use the target language.

Listening Activities

In the Listening Activities the student will hear a conversation or passage, without being able to see the corresponding text. (Of course, if there is something they need to hear again, or if they'd like to see the text, the Mango program can repeat the phrase or have the text revealed.)

After they've heard the conversation or passage, the student can take the corresponding quiz on the right side of the screen. The results of the quiz are not recorded and do not contribute to the overall grade of the student. Each Listening Activity can be done as many times as the student would like.

Reading Activities

In the Reading Activities, the student's focus is reading a passage. Of course, they can have the passage or conversation read to them, but their primary objective will be to read it themselves and answer the questions on the right side of the screen.

Just like the Listening Activity, the results of the Reading Activity quiz are not recorded and do not contribute to the overall grade of the student. Each Listening Activity can be done as many times as the student would like.
